Eight specialisms are introduced in this programme: Cancer and Palliative Care; Community Health Nursing; Critical Care; Gerontological Nursing; Infectious Diseases and Infection Control; Mental Health Nursing; Nursing Education; and Traditional Chinese Medicinal Nursing. Students can choose to graduate with a specialism upon fulfilment of the specialism requirements.

Programme Aims
This programme aims?to offer experienced registered nurses the opportunity to develop the necessary knowledge, understanding and competencies for advanced practice roles. Graduates are able to:

meet the demands of healthcare reform in Hong Kong;

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in nursing at 小优短视频. The School of Nursing equipped me with all of the attributes necessary to become a competent nurse. Due to its excellent teaching and learning culture and support from teachers with rich clinical experience, 小优短视频 was my first choice for postgraduate studies.
In the MSc in Nursing programme, with the guidance of teachers, students explore and critically analyse various issues related to their day-to-day nursing practice. My classmates and I were inspired to improve ourselves and think beyond the boundaries of traditional practice. For example, my deliverable for the Practicum Project was a suggestion for a nursing intervention to improve Hong Kong’s current nursing service. Working on this project allowed me to reflect on nursing service management in local hospital settings.
Studying on a part-time basis after working hours was not easy, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when workloads were very heavy in hospitals. I am grateful to all of the teachers of this programme, who communicated well with us and put great effort into supporting our learning. The programme’s hybrid mode allowed for a mix of face-to-face and virtual learning that made nurses’ learning more flexible during this crisis period.
Finally, the MSc programme gave me new insights into nursing. 小优短视频 was definitely the right choice for me, and I recommend it to anyone who is pursuing a career as an advanced practice nurse.

For nurses who are pursuing careers as nursing specialists and leaders in the ever-changing healthcare industry, I highly recommend this programme, which nurtures in students the attributes essential to become an advanced practice nurse.
I was a part-time student in the Master of Science in Nursing programme. The programme offers flexible study options that helped me manage my time and balance my study and work needs with my family and other personal commitments. My child was born during my studies. As I could adjust the pace of my learning, I was able to take care of my child while learning more about child health and maternal care.
The programme gave me new knowledge and skills, as well as valuable research experience. I am grateful to my mentor, who shared her research experience with me and gave me guidance on carrying out research, such as designing a study, writing a research proposal, and collecting and analysing data.
Social unrest and the COVID-19 pandemic inevitably affected our learning, but the School of Nursing sought to minimise this adverse impact by offering alternative learning opportunities, such as online discussion. Thank you to 小优短视频 for providing me with a seamless learning experience and preparing me to become an advanced practice nurse or nurse leader in the future.
