Ms. Olivia Yeung, Assistant Professor of Practice

Ms. Olivia Yeung is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. She later received her Master of Philosophy from The University of Hong Kong, with her research focusing on aphasia treatment.

Ms. Yeung started her professional career as speech therapist at a non-governmental organization, serving children with communication disorders. She later joined the private sector, where she further developed her clinical expertise in delivering speech therapy to preschool and school-age children with an array of speech, language and literacy disorders. Ms. Yeung has been involved in communication rehabilitation training on adults with acquired disorders since she joined С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Ms. Yeung is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists.

Dr. Cymie Ng, Assistant Professor of Practice

Dr. Cymie Ng is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences degree from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. This was followed by a Master of Medical Sciences degree from The University of Hong Kong. She later pursued her doctoral study at the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and was awarded PhD, with her study focusing on the application of speech recognition technology on speech sound disorders.

Dr. Ng started her professional career as speech therapist at a special child care centre, serving children with various special educational needs. She later joined a private audiology and speech therapy practice, offering diagnostic and rehabilitative speech therapy services to clients with various communication and swallowing disorders. Her clinical expertise includes childhood speech sound disorders, autistic spectrum disorders as well as communication and swallowing disorders associated with medical pathologies. Prior to joining С�Ŷ��Ƶ, Dr. Ng had served as clinical educator for other local speech therapy programmes. She had also presented in international scientific conferences and published clinical materials. She currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Dr. Ng has strong passion in contributing to the speech therapy profession. She had served as the Treasurer of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists from 2005 to 2009. She has always been actively supporting the training of rehabilitation practitioners in mainland China and had participated in numerous charitable missions to serve the underprivileged in China.

Dr. Ng is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists and a Speech Therapist in Accredited Register. She is also a certified provider of Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation, VitalStim Therapy, Guardian Therapy, Estill Voice Training, Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention and Oral Placement Therapy.

Ms. Cora Ling, Assistant Professor of Practice

Ms. Cora Ling is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Master of Medical Sciences from The University of Hong Kong. She later obtained her Master of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University, where she received the William H. Earles award for her academic achievements and accomplishments. She is qualified as a speech therapist in Hong Kong and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) in the United States.

Ms. Ling has extensive experience working in medical settings. She practiced as a speech therapist at the Hospital Authority for ten years, serving adult and pediatric patients with dysphagia, feeding issues, neurological communication disorder and voice disorder. Ms. Ling later completed a fellowship year with the University of Wisconsin Madison, specializing in pediatric voice, feeding, swallowing and craniofacial anomalies. Prior to joining С�Ŷ��Ƶ, Ms. Ling had served as clinical educator for С�Ŷ��Ƶ and other local speech therapy programmes. Ms. Ling currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Ms. Ling is passionate about contributing to the community using her professional knowledge. She worked as a pro bono speech therapist for a social enterprise serving children with language and speech disorders from grassroot families. She has also supported training of rehabilitation practitioners in mainland China.

Ms. Ling is a Member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists. She is a certified provider of VitalStim Therapy and Ampcare��s Effective Swallowing Protocol. She is also trained in using LMRVT Therapy, Adventure in Voice, Voicecraft, Estill Voice Training, Lee-Silverman Voice Treatment, SPEAK OUT! and PROMPT therapy.

Ms. Monique Law is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. She later received her Master of Arts in Language Studies from City University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Law practised as a speech therapist at non-governmental organization and in the private sector, serving children with communication disorders and various degrees of disabilities. She had been involved in a broad spectrum of clinical and administrative functions, including but not limited to providing consultancy service to multi-disciplinary teams, supervising service delivery and developing clinical tools. Ms. Law currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Ms. Law is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists. She is also a Hanen Certified Speech Therapist.

Ms. Lam Hang Ching, Iris

Ms. Iris Lam is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. She later received her Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling from С�Ŷ��Ƶ.

Upon graduation, Ms. Lam joined the Hospital Authority to provide communication and swallowing assessment and training to clients with neurological disorders such as stroke, Parkinson��s disease, and dementia. She has clinical experience in different settings, including acute hospital, out-patient clinic, old age home and geriatric day hospital. Ms. Lam later worked as a speech therapist in a special school, where she specialized in training children with multiple handicaps and severe intellectual disability. Ms. Lam currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Ms. Lam is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists. She is also a certified provider of Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation, Guardian Dysphagia Therapy, and Oral Placement Therapy (Level 2).

Mr. Lai has extensive clinical experience in geriatric speech therapy. He practised as a speech therapist at Hospital Authority hospitals and ambulatory service units, serving clients with neurological communication disorders, dysphagia, and voice disorders. He later worked with a non-governmental organization, overseeing a team of speech therapists responsible for providing outreach services to residential care homes for the elderly. Prior to joining С�Ŷ��Ƶ, Mr. Lai had served as clinical educator for other local speech therapy programmes. He currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum.

Mr. Lai is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists and a Speech Therapist in Accredited Register. He had previously served as the Chairperson of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists for six terms. Mr. Jason Kan is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. He later received his Master of Science in Management (Public Sector Management) from С�Ŷ��Ƶ.

Mr. Kan has extensive clinical and teaching experience. He began his clinical career at special schools serving children with intellectual disability and later worked with a non-governmental organization where he specialized in aural rehabilitation for children and adults with hearing impairment. He had also held various positions in public hospital and private organizations, providing services to clients with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.

Mr. Kan is an experienced clinical educator and he had taught at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Education University of Hong Kong prior to joining С�Ŷ��Ƶ. He had also been invited by other higher education institutions to deliver lectures on his areas of expertise, including hearing impairment, language disorders, and anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing. Mr. Kan currently focuses on clinical speech therapy education, supervising student speech therapists�� clinical practicum. His recent research focus is on experiences of deaf or hard of hearing adults in different communication modes.

Mr. Kan is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists.

Mr. Alex Ho is currently Assistant Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. He later received his Master of Science in Rehabilitation of People with Developmental Disabilities from С�Ŷ��Ƶ with Distinction.

Mr. Ho commenced his professional speech therapy practice at a special school to provide speech therapy service for students with mild intellectual disability. He later joined a private audiology and speech therapy practice to offer speech therapy to clients with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders across different age groups. He is known for his extensive experience in service settings in Hong Kong and Macau, including clinics, private hospitals, old age homes, geriatric day care centres, sheltered workshops, primary schools, and secondary schools. He had served as honorary clinical supervisor for student speech therapists�� clinical practicum prior to joining С�Ŷ��Ƶ.

Mr. Ho is a Full Member of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists and a Speech Therapist in Accredited Register. He had also served as a Member of the Professional Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists. Dr. Janet Ng

Dr. Janet Ng, Associate Professor of Practice

Dr. Janet Ng is currently Associate Professor of Practice of the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of С�Ŷ��Ƶ. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of Hong Kong and qualified as a speech therapist. This was followed by a Master of Medical Sciences degree from The University of Hong Kong, majoring in public health and administrative medicine. She was later awarded Doctor of Health Science from С�Ŷ��Ƶ with Dean��s Honours.

Dr. Ng had solid front-line clinical practice and extensive management experience prior to joining the University as clinical educator. She began her career as speech therapist at a private audiology and speech therapy group in Hong Kong, offering diagnostic and rehabilitative speech therapy services to clients with various communication and swallowing disorders. She later opted for focusing her talents on clinical management and had held regional leadership positions in Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore in a multinational corporation offering audiology and speech therapy products and services.

Dr. Ng is passionate in developing the speech therapy profession and had been elected as the Chairperson of The Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists for five consecutive years from 2005 to 2010. She had also been appointed as the Founding Chairperson of the Professional Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists and served the Institute during 2018 to 2024, leading the management of the Register of Speech Therapists accredited by Department of Health. Dr. Ng has been invited by various organizations in Hong Kong, Macau and China to deliver training on speech therapy, voice disorders, aural rehabilitation and other professional issues relevant to communication disorders.

Dr. Ng��s clinical and research interests span across various aspects of communication disorders and clinical education, including speech therapy, aural rehabilitation, health behaviour change, evidence-based practice, third party disability, and problem-based learning (PBL).
